The experience of owning gallery spaces, and creating art shows with my partners in crime over at The Los Angeles Makery, Dave and Cathy, during these very strange times has been interesting in terms of the art that has come through our spaces. We encourage artistic dialog with the artists, and the patrons, and the other artists. Art brings joy to people, and being able to host art, whether its here at Poet’s Place with Linda, or with everyone over at The Makery, is something I truly value. Joy is resistance. We must continue to resist. So what are you creating right now?
The David Geffen Galleries over at LACMA are open and I recommend going and checking the space out. Give yourself some time, since it’s a lot of art and a lot to take in. Crossing Wilshire Blvd. above it is a trip too. I enjoyed my experience there and look forward to going back.
I’ve listed some other suggestions of art opportunities out there, both for seeing and for participating. Good times during troubled times. A remedy to the shit show we are witnessing everyday. How do I really feel?
