Mojaveland and Making a Mini Golf Hole
This is a work in progress and I am enjoying the process of creating a mini golf hole out at Anna Stump’s Mini Golf Course at Mojaveland in Twenty-Nine Palms. I saw what Anna was up to and thought a visit to play would be fun. When I was asked if I wanted to design a hole, I was surprised and excited and super willing, all rolled in one. This kind of opportunity doesn’t present itself often, and I felt I had to take advantage of it.
So what was I going to do? I saw pictures of other holes that had already been designed and built, and got an idea of what I may need to do to put mine together. Of course there would be glass everywhere! I have glass casting molds that make pyramids in a variety of styles, as well as Buddha heads, and sacred hearts. I’m also casting glass for a “Stonehenge” like put through. Intrigued yet? I am. There will be totems of large beads and I think this is going to be pretty cool. Mojaveland will be open June 12-13, 4-8pm. Free! You are invited. Family and dog friendly.

From the NY Times - Aging in Place Comfortably and Stylishly
As we age we need to think about how we handle our golden years, when we are most likely to need assistance, or at least ease in our surroundings. Contemplating these things may feel uncomfortable, but I bet it would be a lot less comfortable than not being able to reach something or deal with an issue that could have been rectified by better planning. Check out this article over at the NY Times that discusses this in a thoughtful, constructive manner. It may cost you one of your monthly alotment of articles, but it’s worth it. Over here, on this side of the website these are the kinds of issues The Creative Space wants to address. We’re not getting any younger, now are we?
