I’m distracted. It’s a combination of things. Moving my studio, world issues, and moving my studio. March is a good time for change. Spring arrives, we have the time change, and I’m moving my studio…but this isn’t all about me. I can’t help be reflective on these things. Just as it feels like the pandemic might be receding enough to act like things might get normal, that idiot Putin decides to start WWW 3. Distracted.
This is where art can be helpful. My move is into a cool space down in Little Tokyo, The Makery, with cool people, and we will do cool things. We’re planning on having art shows, and classes and workshops, and it’ll be a maker space. These are all good things. Here’s our first call for artists!
Another Call to Artists - “There From Here”
Over at Art Share, in downtown LA, They have teamed up with the fabulous Baha Danesh for a Call to Artists. Hurry as the deadline is upon up.
There From Here is an exhibition that revolves around the idea of “‘place”’ and how it affects artists. Artists will explore their own surroundings and highlight key elements within their own context of self and surroundings.
Artists will explore concepts through a variety of mediums, ranging from charcoal and oil paint to digital media. Figurative and environmental works are rendered with a whimsical touch and address themes pertaining to humanity, such as memory, identity, mental health and fantastical worlds created not only through our experiences, but those of ancient cultures as well. Embrace your inner dreamer and wander amidst the many realities of everyday life.
