April - What's Next?

We marched on March 28th. 8 million people getting together, showing solidarity. It’s a beautiful thing. And it gives hope, which we need desperately. People’s resilience and creativity are off the hook right now. Artists are using these strange times to inspire them in ways they may have never known. I mean, the President is insane. Unhinged. Dangerous. So we counter that with surrounding ourselves with art and joy and community. Community is so important and will be what wins in the end.

Part of our art group is the lovely Linda Kaye, who provides the masses with poetry and art. Every month she brings us a variety of writers that have a lot to say these days. Linda is branching out as well in photography, and will have a piece on display at the Quiet Show at the Los Angeles Makery in Little Tokyo. Check out Poet’s Place to read This month’s edition.

You might want to see what the museums have to offer this month. Shows are closing and spaces are opening. Or take a class somewhere. Learn a new art technique, or get better at what you do. There are classes and workshops all across the city. Art is good for the soul, especially making it.

Below there’s an assortment of art opportunities for this month and a couple of save the dates.
