August is upon us. It’s starting to warm up a bit in LA and the surrounding areas. I’m grateful after such a depressing first half of the year. Yes, I appreciate the water we received so much, but the “white sky” for as long as we had it was just too much. Done belly aching about that, and I promised I wouldn’t bitch about the heat because of what I just went over. So, bring the warmth and the sunshine and the longish days, and remember to hydrate. While you’re cooling off you can go over to Poet’s Place and check out the poetry Linda Kaye has put together this month.
I’m listing some other cool things you may find interesting, such as the event posted above, Play Music on the Porch, created by my good friend Brian Mallman. Please check it out. He has people from all over the world gathering together online to share their own music on their own porches. Damn, how long has this been going on now? I just asked Mr. Google, who said, 2013 was the first year. that sounds about right.
Cactus Gallery. Since 2005.
Hello Art Friends and Familia.
This perfectly festive piece is 68 LA PIÑATA (The Piñata) by gallery favorite Fran De Anda. It (and two others by Fran) is part of our current show in which artists recreate the card deck from LA LOTERIA, the traditional Mexican game of chance. The show consists of 114 originals over three pages, so make sure to browse it all at the link below.
And if you’ve read this far, to celebrate this stellar show and my birthday, I am extending a 25% discount on any piece that remains available in the show (through Saturday 11:59p PST). Discount will be calculated automatically at checkout.
